چکیده

We review the architecture of massively parallel machines used for lattice QCD simulations and present benchmarks for the performance of popular algorithms on these platforms. We cover commercial supercomputers, PC clusters, and custom-designed machines. We also speculate on future developments. c Copyright owned by the author(s) under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike Licence.

Problem Solving Environment for Lattice QCD on Cell/B, E,

Recently the new computer architecture with asymmetric multi-core processor, Cell/B.E., was released. It is very different from the usual sequential single-core CPU. The Cell/B.E. is a very high performance machine for scientific/engineering application and cheap so that it can be used personally or in a small group. But programming strategy to achieve a good performance is different from tradi...

Lattice Qcd on Pcs? *

Current PC processors are equipped with vector processing units and have other advanced features that can be used to accelerate lattice QCD programs. Clusters of PCs with a high-bandwidth network thus become powerful and cost-effective machines for numerical simulations.

use LATTICE FIELD THEORY

This review concentrates on progress in lattice QCD during the last two years and, particularly, its impact on phenomenology. The two main technical developments have been successful implementations of lattice actions with exact chiral symmetry, and results from simulations with two light dynamical flavours which provide quantitative estimates of quenching effects for some quantities. Results a...

Data Envelopment Analysis from simulation on the Lattice QCD using CCR model

One of the most serious principles in production theory in economic is the principle of "efficiency". Simply put, efficiency can be defined as the demand that the desired goals (outputs) are achieved with the minimum use of the available resources (inputs). In order to, distinguish the relative efficiency of organizational units with multiple inputs to produce multiple outputs, "Data Envelopmen...

Platform independent profiling of a QCD code

The supercomputing platforms available for high performance computing based research evolve at a great rate. However, this rapid development of novel technologies requires constant adaptations and optimizations of the existing codes for each new machine architecture. In such context, minimizing time of efficiently porting the code on a new platform is of crucial importance. A possible solution ...
